St. Luke's Fieldtrip...

Our class had a great opportunity to walk to St. Luke's for a fun fieldtrip.  We have been learning about communities.  We have talked about how to be a good citizen in a community and who are heroes in a community.

We started out walking up to the helicopter pad.  The kids were able to see where the helicopter "lives."  Unfortunately, the helicopter was out on a call, so they were not able to see it, but we enjoyed learning about the helicopter and where they keep it.

Cameron got to try on the pilot's helmet!

Next, we spent some time with the paramedics and one of their ambulances.  We saw what they bring out of the ambulance when they go on a call, and then sat inside of the ambulance to hear some stories and take a look at the equipment in the ambulance.

Next, we were taken on a tour of the hospital.  We got to go through the emergency room and then we sat in the foyer to hear about all of the different people who work at the hospital.  It takes a lot of people to run a hospital.

We sure are thankful to have a hospital in our community and we are grateful for all of the heroes who work hard to take care of us when we are hurt or sick.  Thanks for having us St. Luke's.
